"We All Have Super Powers" is an engaging children's book that seeks to normalize the diverse range of emotions experienced by young children as they encounter various challenges. Set in the heartwarming environment of Stone Gate Elementary School in Mr. Bigglebok's classroom, the story revolves around our brave characters—Empathetic Eric, Resilient Rein, Logical Lexi, and Mindful Mia. As they navigate their school days, each character discovers and embraces their unique social-emotional strengths, such as empathy, resilience, logic, and mindfulness. The narrative not only captivates young readers but also serves as a valuable resource for parents, offering talking points, vocabulary, and mental wellness resources. Additionally, teachers will find comprehensive lesson plans and activities to complement the book.
As child and adolescent counselors, we recognize the vital importance of highlighting social-emotional wellness and honoring character skills that assist children in building empathy and kindness. "We All Have Super Powers" is our earnest endeavor to contribute to this conversation. Working in schools, we have often witnessed the struggles of teaching children meaningful lessons that exemplify the emotional intelligence that needs to be developed for children to succeed and thrive. Our goal is to make sure that students, parents and teachers are equipped with the resources needed to develop skills that are essential to building positive connections and self-worth.
